Rice Krispie Treat Easter Eggs

I know, Rice Krispie Treats are not very hard and Easter is already over! However, my point of writing this post is to tell you how I messed them up so you don't do the same thing.
The recipe is very simple and can be found on any Rice Krispie Treats box. (I got the recipe here: http://www.ricekrispies.com/recipes/easter-egg-treats.aspx#/recipes/easter-egg-treats.)
However, I'll give you the recipe to show you how easy they are. :)

Ingredients:
3 tbs butter or margarine
1 package regular marshmallows (10 oz, about 40) OR 4 cups of miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies (can also use Cocoa Krispies)
Canned frosting or decorative gel
Assorted Candies

Directions:
1) In large saucepan melt butter over low heat.
2) Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
3) Add KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
4) Using 1/3-cup measuring cup coated with cooking spray divide warm cereal mixture into portions. Using buttered hands shape each portion into egg shape. Cool.
(Note: I also made nests and added Reese's Candy Eggs to it just to have a variety.)

5) Decorate with frosting and/or candies.
Best if served the same day.
These were the last ones made, so I designated them for Dan, Trinity and Nehemiah...um...okay, the last one was for me! :)

What was wrong with my Rice Krispie Treat Easter Eggs? They were too hard and not very marshmallow-y. If I had it to do over again, I would make more of the butter/marshmallow mixture (or use less Rice Krispies cereal) and I would work a lot faster. I paused to take pictures and then took my sweet precious time shaping each one into an egg shape.

Don't get me wrong, they still tasted good. They just would have been BETTER if they weren't so hard! :) At least they were fun to make!

What fun things did you make for Easter this year?
