Breakfast Time

I'm what you would call a "breakfast person!" I eat breakfast every morning! There are many different types of breakfast foods and I'd like to share the varieties you may see around our house.

First of all, there is the typical everyday breakfast.
This consists of 2 scrambled eggs (only 1 egg yoke), toast, and a nice glass of milk. I split this with Trinity every morning. I'm sure you can guess which plate is mine and which is hers.

Then there is Dan's work-day breakfast.
This has to be something that he can just grab and eat on his way to work. He has to be at work at 8am, so he usually gets up around 7:30am and is actually on time! Men!
I have offered to get up and make him something that will stick with him a little longer, but the poor guy doesn't want to wake up any earlier than he needs to...not even to eat a nice breakfast. Frankly, I'm not complaining because I don't have to get up and make it that way. :)

We also have Dan's day-off breakfast! (Sometimes it's also a 10pm snack!)
This is a breakfast sandwich that we have been perfecting for a couple of years now. I usually make it, but Dan has been known to make me one from time to time. On his sandwich, there is 2 eggs, shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepper jack cheese, 5 pieces of hard salami, and bacon on buttered toast! I just like the eggs, sliced American cheese, and maybe some bacon. I'm a plain Jane!

There is also the fast breakfast!
This is the breakfast that I eat on Sundays...you know, because I have be up and ready before 10am! :)

Then we have the breakfast for dinner!
The most recent meal we've had included biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and bacon. It's pretty filling!

I also have the best friend breakfast!
This can be at anytime of the day! I really enjoy going out for breakfast...probably because I don't have make anything or clean anything up. My best friend and I always go to IHOP when we get together. I don't have any pictures of this, but I order the Rooty-Tooty Fresh and Fruity! You should try it sometime...

Then there's the drive-thru breakfast!
I just had one of these yesterday morning. I went through the drive-thru at St. Louis Bread Company and got a chocolate chip muffy with a cup of ice water. I know...real healthy! (Can't be any worse than the Pop-Tarts or cereal though.) I thought about taking a picture of it, but I had already devoured half of it so chose not to. :)

So my question to you is...what do you eat for breakfast every morning?

  1. very interesting! looks yummy :)
Chris eats first and he has cereal. Something like a bran flake or shredded wheat or quaker oatmeal squares with soy milk. Then the kids sometimes eat with him if they are awake and when I eat a few hours later I eat the same thing and the kids might eat AGAIN with me and then they have a piece of fruit (im allergic to most of the fruit so i skip this part:(( and then about an hour after their breakfast(s) they have a piece or 2 of toast. I take just one bite of each of theirs. Other mornings during the week we have oatmeal. and every morning juice! (the milk and juice are all watered down for various reasons)

Saturday chris usually fix's pancakes, or french toast and hasbrowns, coffee..
Sundays, like yourself, is crazy so the dh and kids have either a bowl of cereal and or a bagel while im getting things together. We have oatmeal often for the kids on Thurday NIGHTs because that is our "date night" so we give them that and send them to bed early. Lots of toast, cereal, breads and bagels, oats, even some sweet rice, fruit and cream of wheat if i remember! this morning, a surprise visit from mom with McGriddles (on special!) SOME saturday mornings, about once every few months we go out to eat for breakfast:))
Whew, that was probably more than you really wanted to know!

  2. Wow Shelley, that sounds pretty healthy. I had forgotten about oatmeal...we eat that for lunch or snacks sometimes. I make waffles once in a blue moon too, but it's pretty messy! :) I think it's funny your kids eat 2-3 times for breakfast! Kids are like a bottomless pit!
